Rapport nr 3 från Hälleviksstrands Varv

18 medlemmar trotsade blåst och kyla och samåkte från Ingos verkstad till en arbetslördag på Hälleviksstrands Varv lördag den 17 november. Skylightet skulle skäras loss med skärbrännare. Men innan det kunde ske, städades båten invändigt för allt sågspån och en presenning lades ut under skylighet för att fånga gnistregnet från ovan. Vi hade brandvakter som noga såg till att ingen liten gnista kom vilse. Täckställningen fick en ordentlig översyn och på däck monterades CO2 skåpet ner, så vi kan byta panelen bakom.
Under veckan togs delar av panelen bort på skottet intill maskinrummet. Den visade sig vara genomrutten på många ställen. Båten städades som vanligt invändigt från allt som varvskillarna hade huggit bort. Under vattenlinjen på varje sida sitter en slingerköl. Det är två nästan 4 meter långa vinkeljärn, som sticker 10 cm ut från skrovet. Det ena vinkeljärnet satt i vägen för renoveringen och måste lossnas. Det finns olika uppfattningar om vilken nytta de har. De kan kanske dämpa viss rullning. Ett faktum är att de har suttit där i minst 30 år. Det är nog säkrast att skruva på järnet igen.
Nästa arbetslördag på Hälleviksstrands Varv blir den 15 december. Hoppas vi ses då!
